Driven Deep to Left Field It's Outta Here....

 
WHAA offers a comprehensive baseball program for ages 5-18.  Programs begin with instructional coach pitch to a more comprehensive game play for the older groups.  Additionally, West Hempfield Athletic Association hosts and sponsors Jr. & Sr. American Legion Baseball.

2013 BASEBALL



Saturday, May 18
The West Hempfield Maulers played their 2nd inter-league today against the visiting Greensburg Angels.  The Maulers came away with a 4-2 victory.  Dom Ward was 3-3 and Jackson Martin was 2-3 with a run scored and an RBI.  Connor Chillinsky also went 2-3 and drove in 2 runs.  The Maulers improved the record to 6-1 on the season, 

Wednesday, May 15
Maxwell traveled to West Hempfield to take on the Maulers and left with a loss 11-5.  West Hempfield was down 3 runs after the top of the 1st inning but fought back to win the game.  Landon Kauffman had several impressive plays at 3rd base and Ryan Morcheid was solid at shortstop.  Chase Regester made a key catch at 3rd base in the 5th ining the stopped a Maxwell rally.  The Maulers are now 5-1 on the season.

Thursday, May 9
The West Hempfield White Lightning traveled to Maxwell to play the Yankees.  The Yankees led 7-0 after 3 innings when the White Lightning fought back in the 6th inning to tie the score 9-9, but it was not enough and dropped the contest 14-9.  Dennis Barton and Dylan Visnic had big hits in the comeback.  Barton drove in 3 runs and Visnic drove in 2.  The White Lightning are now 3-1 on the season.

Wednesday, May 8
The West Hempfield Maulers traveled to Fort Allen and defeated them 24-0 to improve their record to 4-1.  The Maulers posted another impressive defensive performance and the offense was led by Landon Kauffman and Connor Chillinsky who both had 5 hits including 4 doubles.  Also posting multiple hit games where Gabe Bigler, Ryan Morcheid, Dom Ward, Jackson Martin, & Casy Luczki.

Saturday, May 4
The West Hempfield White Lightning crushed the South Greensburg Hornets in their 1st inter-league game 20-4.  Alex Hall singled, doubled, and tripled and Colin Critchfield had 2 doubles.  Sam Rehard did not surrender a hit over 2 2/3 innings of pitching.  The White Lightning are now 3-0 on the season.
The West Hempfield Maulers played their 1st inter-league game against Southwest Greensburg, winning 21-10 to improve their record to 3-1 on the season.  Gabe Bigler had 5 hits and Landon Kauffman had 4 hits with 3 doubles.  Also, helping the team on offense where Connor Chillisky, Michael McCarthy, Chase Regester, & Dominic Ward. 

Friday, May 3
The West Hempfield Thunderboltz made a late game comeback but it wasnt enough as they lost a 1 run game to Carbon.   Kaden Friel, Anthony Terzolino, & Tyler Bagshaw all had key hits for the Thunderboltzs.

Thursday, May 2
The West Hempfield Thunderboltz won their game in the bottom of the 6th inning over Maxwell.  Harrison Sowers led the offense with his 1st homeun of the season which happened to be a grand slam.  Tristen Lloyd helped the Thunderboltz with an unassisted doubleplay.  Antonio Tuttoilmondo, Caden Kovalcik, & Dom Mauro all helped the defense and offense to help the Boltz to their 1st win of the year.

Wednesday, May 1
The West Hempfield Predator lost a nail biter 5-4 in extra innings.  Daniel Swauger & Dominic Palmiero went 4-4 and Adam York and Cameron Repko had 3 hits each.  Kyle Lander led the defense with an unassisted double-play.  The Predator are now 1-1 on the young season.
The West Hempfield Maulers continue to play strong defense and the bats came alive with a 14-1 defeat over the Bovard Bulls.  Ryan Morcheid and Connor Chillinsky led the defense with several excellent plays.  Dom Ward, Jackson Martin, Landon Kauffman, Anthony, Scozzaro, Morcheid, and Chillinsky all had multiple hits in the contest.  The Maulers are now 2-1 on the season.

Tuesday, April 30
The West Hempfield White Lightning are now 2-0 on the season with a 8-5 victory over the New Stanton Bucs.  Sam Rehard got the win on the mound, surrendering only 1 hit and only 1 earned run.  Rehard also struck out 9 Bucs in 3 2/3 innings of pitching,  Dylan Visnic led the offense going 3-3.

Monday, April 29
The West Hempfield Predator beat the Carbon Astros 21-0.  Lucas Kapusta went 4-4 icluding his 1st homerun of the season.  Gage Wheaton, Alex Riffer, & Nick Bruno all has 4 hits.  Dominic Palmiero had 3 hits and made some great defensive plays.  The Predator are now 1-0 on the season.

Saturday, April 27
The West Hempfield Maulers dropped their home opener to Maxwell Biondi, 2-0.  Both teams played great defense.  The Maulers made 2 crucial throwing errors that probably cost them the win.  Ryan Morcheid had 6 putouts and Dom Ward, Gabe Bigler, & Landon Kauffman all played solid defense.  Jackson Martin and Connor Chillinsky both went
2-3 to lead the offense.  The Maulers are now 1-1 on the season.

Thursday, April 25
The West Hempfield Maulers opened the season traveling to New Stanton and defeating the Firehawks 15-1.  Connor Chillinsky lead the offense going 6-6 with 2 doubles.  Gabe Bigler also went 5-6 batting lead-off.  The Maulers played solid defense and everyone in the batting order had at least 1 hit.  The Maulers are 1-0 this season.

Thursday, April 25
The West Hempfield Bulldogs opened their season with a 10-7 victory over Fort Allen Red.  Brandon Marmo pitched 3 scorelss innings striking out 5 batters.  Brayden Pierce tripled in the contest and EJ Mower and Connor White both stole home.  The Bulldogs are 1-0 on the season.

Tuesday, April 23
The West Hempfield White Lightning won their season opener 8-1 when they traveled to Bovard.  Bryce Pierce had 3 hits and 3 RBI's and Anthony LeDonne & Dylan Visnic both had RBI doubles to lead the offense.  Noah Stape earned the win on the mound with a 9 strikeout performance.
